Nienke Altena heeft op 24 November 2025 haar dissertatie ‘In ‘waardigen nationalen geest’. Het Nederlandse middelbaar onderwijs tijdens de Duitse bezetting 1940-1945’ verdedigd aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam.

Op dinsdag 11 november 2025 promoveerde Ruben Ros aan de Universiteit Leiden op het proefschrift ‘Expert Politics. Technocratic Reasoning in Dutch Parliamentary Debate, 1917-1994’.

In this interactive tutorial, the central questions are: what is the use of historical methodology, what is your methodological approach, how does your topic legitimize your research methods, and what are the major methodological challenges of your research project? Data management has become an essential part of doing research in the humanities, whether you work with archival materials, oral histories, or born-digital sources. This workshop introduces participants to key principles of data management: how to store, connect, and analyze data in ways that make your research both sustainable and transparent.
