Writing (Past) Empires as National Histories – Legacies of Colonialism and Violence in the Netherlands and Germany – in an international comparative context (9-11 June 2026, Münster).
In 2025-2026, the RSPH Summer School will focus on historiographical approaches to Dutch and German colonialism, with particular attention to the interplay between historical narratives and contemporary societal and political engagements with colonial legacies.

Workshop: Histories of taxation, (in)equality, and redistribution

This workshop is explicitly open to research master students and PhD candidates. Research master course: What Is Political History Today?
What do historians mean when they speak of politics and the political today? Approaches to political history have diversified significantly, raising new conceptual, theoretical, and methodological questions. This course invites Research Master students to explore recent debates and approaches in the history of politics, in both early modern and modern contexts.
