Peter van Dam has been appointed Professor of Dutch history at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Amsterdam.
With this chair group, he wants to work on a new story about the Netherlands, in which globalisation, (de)colonisation and environment history will, of course, play a major role. The history of sustainability is a key focus in his own research. ‘I am fascinated by the times in which people believe that things need to be done differently and spring into action’.
