Lotte van Hasselt recently defended her PhD dissertation Deserving Refugees? The Evolution of a Concept in the Dutch Republic, 1570–1730s at the University of Amsterdam. She previously completed her bachelor’s degrees in History and Archaeology, as well as a research master’s in History, at the same university. In addition to her upcoming position as coordinator of the Research School Political History, she also just started as managing editor for Tijdschrift voor Geschiedenis. She is excited to join the Research School and looks forward to collaborating with its community of scholars and students.
