The Roosevelt Institute for American Studies (RIAS) is pleased to announce a vacancy for a postdoctoral researcher (0,8 FTE) in American history for a period of two years. The new postdoctoral researcher is invited to do research and work on an academic publication at the RIAS on any aspect of American history, from the colonial period to the contemporary era. The deadline for applications is Friday, 16 January 2026.

On October 15, a major book launch will take place in Utrecht, entitled “Prussia at Crossroads: State, Society and Monarchy in Crisis.” Sir Christopher Clark (Cambridge), Susanne Bauer (BBAW), Jan Markert (Trier), and Frank Sterkenburgh (Utrecht) will present their new books on this topic. James Kennedy and Beatrice de Graaf (both Utrecht) will moderate and commentate.
