This Master’s Thesis Award was created to celebrate and reward scholars who produce outstanding master’s theses that help further our understanding of the impact of expatriation on people’s lives. The Thesis Award winner receives €500, and the executive summary is published online by the EAC and the organisations participating in this initiative. We’re now welcoming submissions for the 2026 EAC Thesis Award. Deadline for application: 31 March 2026. More information.

Call for Papers: NISA International Conference
On 2-3- December 2026, the NISA International Conference, organized by the Netherlands Intelligence Studies Association, will take place. The central theme of this edition is the role, functioning, and governance of intelligence and security services in times of democratic erosion and backsliding. The conference invites scholars to critically reflect on the tensions between democratic oversight, state security, and political power. There is explicit scope for historical contributions that highlight long-term developments, comparative perspectives, and case studies from different periods and contexts. Jubileumprijsvraag Koninklijk Fries Genootschap 2027
In 2027 bestaat het Keninklik Frysk Genoatskip foar Skiednis en Kultuer / Koninklijk Fries Genootschap voor Geschiedenis en Cultuur (KFG) 200 jaar. Een van de jubileumactiviteiten is een wetenschappelijke prijsvraag voor het beste historische essay van maximaal 5000 woorden (inclusief annotatie) over een onderwerp uit de geschiedenis van de Friezen, Fryslân en / of de voormalige Friese landen.
