The 7th annual Geremek Lecture, which will be jointly delivered by journalist Ms. Caroline de Gruyter and author Geert Mak, on Tuesday 14 February at the University of Utrecht. The lecture celebrates the memory and legacy of Bronisław Geremek, who as Polish Foreign Minister in the 1990s presided over Poland’s EU entry negotiations and who became the architect of Polish NATO accession. The lecture is the result of an initiative taken by the Dutch and Polish Ministers of Foreign Affairs in 2009 to establish a lecture in tribute to his political and academic work. The annual Geremek Lecture is held alternately in the Netherlands and in Poland, and is organised in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland. It is one of the annual highlights of the Polish-Dutch bilateral relationship.
Please find attached an invitation containing further details. In order to register for this lecture, please contact Ms. Nicolette Moors from the University of Utrecht at n.s.e.moors@uu.nl.
